Baby Sitters
..are to care safely for children in the absence of parents or guardians. Their duties are to feed children, read stories, play games, entertain, change and settle into bed.
It is advisable that you state the bed time in front of the children so that there are no arguments when the time comes. Once the children are settled into bed, if required the Sitter can tidy the family living area, unload, load and fire up the dishwasher, wipe down the kitchen benches and tidy up the toy area.
Make sure you show the Sitter how to use the TV and if you are coming home quite late, it would be kind if you left a blanket for the Sitter to use on the couch and showed them where the coffee tea and kettle are.
Basically your Sitter can step in where the parents leave off, providing love, care, nurturing, support and kindness.
